A True Taste Gold Award Winner
The Fresh Pasta Company's Butternut Squash and Sage
Tortelli has just won the True Taste Small Manufacture
Gold Award.
Based in Ruthin, North Wales, The Fresh Pasta Company
makes what the name suggests – the very freshest
pasta available.
The Company eschews supermarkets in favour of high-class
delicatessens, hotels and restaurants. Owner Mark Garcia-Oliver
promises pasta ‘the way I would make it for myself’,
as well as next day UK delivery.
‘We are happy to discuss customers’ individual
requirements and we value their feedback,’ he
says. ‘We pride ourselves on our customer service
and want to build long-lasting relationships with retailers.’
The True Taste / Gwir Flas Wales Food and Drink Awards
celebrate the quality and diversity of food and drink
produced in Wales. Now in their third year the awards
are regarded as the "gold standard" amongst
food and drink producers in Wales.
The renowned panel of judges - organised by The Guild
of Fine Food Retailers - including food writers, chefs,
food inspectors, and mystery shoppers - had the difficult
task of sampling the record number of 300 entries.
Sponsors included ASDA, ITV Wales, Hybu Cig Cymru /
Meat Promotion Wales, and The Grocer; with supporters
Capper & Co Ltd / Spar, NFU Cymru, and Farmers Union
of Wales.
The True Taste Food and Drink Awards are managed by
the Welsh Development Agency, which is a sponsored body
of the Welsh Assembly Government
